Cross-blooded are the result of breeding between elves and humans. The drive of the human combined with the feral power of the elf creates bestial features. Many cross-blooded have horns or fangs, some are unnaturally large or small. Some have purple hair, others are covered in fur, some even grow wings. Others are barely distinguishable from their elven or human parents. If they have a unifying theme, it is their diversity.
Cross-blooded generally live to well over 100, but rarely make it past 200. They mature at the same rate as humans, but their development slows after adulthood, much like that of the elves. Rarely entirely at home in either society, cross-blooded are often forced into lives of crime or menial work. Some are even abandoned as children for their often monstrous appearance.
Elven females who give birth to cross-blooded take the same physiological toll that they do giving birth to full elf children, while human mothers experience slightly longer and more difficult pregnancies.
